Welcome to the SCTI Professional Development Master 2026 course.

All Spalding Certified Teacher Instructors are required to complete ten (10) clock hours of professional development each calendar year to maintain IMSLEC Accreditation. All submitted hours must be earned during 2026. Completion and submission of these hours authorize you to teach courses in 2027.

To help you meet your 10-hour annual professional development requirement, both required and optional modules are listed below.

PLEASE NOTE:

The modules listed in the Required section are mandatory. These must be completed to maintain an active SCTI status, even if:

  1. You have already met your 10-hour requirement through other professional development (PD) trainings, or
  2. You work at a Spalding Accredited School where hours are verified for you.

The Required Modules will not total 10 hours. To complete your annual requirement, you may supplement with optional PD trainings such as:

  1. SCTI PD Optional Trainings
  2. Completion of the Reading Foundations (RF) or Effective Spelling, Writing, and Reading (ESWR) course (45 hours)
  3. Attendance at local or national IDA Conferences (credit for hours attended)
  4. Participation in a school-sponsored Spalding in-service (length of in-service)
  5. Attendance at professional development sessions that enhance Spalding implementation (include a brief summary and duration of training)

Each point earned is recorded in the Grades section and equals one hour of CEU credit. CEU certificates will be provided upon completion.

Course Learning Management System (LMS)

The purpose of the Learning Management System, LMS, is simply to facilitate coursework during the course. Once a participant receives a final grade and certificate from the course, the course may be removed. We do not expect a participant to access his/her course after the course is completed.

It is best practice to save all assignments uploaded into the LMS to a personal computer in case resubmission is necessary.
