Why did you become involved in your profession or industry?:


During the past 38 years in education, I have taught and served as a school and district administrator in both rural and urban school districts leading schools through start-ups, turnarounds and growth models. Among my significant previous positions, I served as Curriculum Director for Humboldt Unified School District, Prescott Valley, AZ; Elementary Principal with the Peoria Unified School District, Peoria, AZ; and an Elementary classroom teacher for grades K-8 in Skull Valley and Prescott, AZ. I was a 1997 finalist for the National Distinguished Principal Award, and I was honored with the 1994 Principal of the Year Award by the Arizona Nurses’ Association and 1986 Teacher of the Year/Ambassador for Excellence Nominee.

Other Interests: 

Traveling throughout the United States and abroad. Working on my 58 Chevy Apache and various projects at home including woodworking and landscaping.

Favorite Children’s Book(s): 

My favorite children’s book is “Where The Red Fern Grows” by Wilson Rawls.
